PosterJam Showcase: Andrei Nicolescu

The year 2021 marks four years since the launching of the first PosterJam challenge. During this period we received over 6,500 posters from designers, illustrators, photographers, students, and teachers.

The role of the PosterJam challenges is to create a context for experimentation and a space where there is only one rule in making the poster. The rule is that the poster corresponds to the challenge. In these four years, we had participants who sent several variations of the same poster, but also participants who came with 10-15 different solutions to communicate a topic. There are participants who send posters each month, with a clear evolution, and who have started to use in school or commissioned projects what they have explored for the posters sent to us.

One of the participants who were with us from the beginning and participated in almost all the topics launched is Andrei Nicolescu. In this exhibition, PosterJam Showcase @SIT+READ | Independent Artbook Fair, you can see a selection of posters submitted by Andrei, an evolution of his work, and a multitude of styles, trials, and experiments he made in these four years.

Andrei Nicolescu is an architect and visual artist living in Bucharest, Romania. His work focuses on experimentation in the visual arts. The dialogue between the various visual arts and their recombination are the basis from which he starts in his approach as an artist or architect. Passionate about all forms of art and design, he is dedicated to an essentialized image, geometric shapes defining his clear and clean visual language, he works to define an integrated framework for combining the arts.

PosterJam is a project started in 2017 by Local Design Circle members, Artemisa Pascu, Andrei Turenici and Andrei Grosu.
